Wearisma Launches Influencer Trends Series in Tokyo

Wearisma was delighted today to launch a new series of events with The State of Influencer Trends in Japan and Europe! Industry leaders in Fashion, Beauty and Sports Apparel joined the Wearisma team in Tokyo to discuss the leading trends in the influencer marketing landscape.

Beginning with a presentation by Wearisma Founder & CEO Jenny Tsai, attendees learnt about the key differences between Japan and Europe influencer activity, and the strategy they should employ to embrace these differences. This saw the audience ask questions such as ‘What do we think is the future of social media?’ Jenny’s answer covered the fragmentation and increased diversity of social media that we expect to see rise.

Jenny then sat down for a fireside chat with Condé Nast’s Head of Social Talent Business, Yuko Miwa. They discussed the key trends in young people’s attitudes to fashion and luxury brands, the key lessons brands can take from influencer activity in Europe that can be applied in Japan.

Attendees seemed particularly interested in the differences in consumers between Europe and Japan.

These insights and the excellent feedback we have already received will help us shape future events which, don’t worry, we are bringing to other regions very soon!

Influencer Marketing vs Traditional Advertising

Influencer Marketing vs Traditional Advertising: Which is Right for Your Brand?

Both influencer marketing and traditional advertising can achieve broad reach and foster trust—yet they do so with different strengths and challenges. Influencer marketing builds trust through personal, authentic endorsements that resonate with targeted audiences, often leading to higher engagement and a sense of community. Traditional advertising, on the other hand, leverages the credibility of established platforms and can quickly raise brand awareness across a wide audience.
